CELEBRATING TWENTY YEARS OF SERVICE
BRISTOL, Va.- Settlers Life Insurance Company will celebrate its twentieth anniversary by hosting the Bristol Chamber of Commerce Business After-Hours Reception at its home office on October 14, 2004 at 5:30 p.m.
Business leaders and local government officials from the Tri-Cities will be on hand as part of the celebration. One of those Government officials attending will be Mayor Paul Hurley of Bristol, Virginia. Hurley will be on hand to proclaim October 14, 2004 as "Settlers Life Day" pursuant to a resolution passed late September by the City Council of Bristol, Virginia.
"I think Settlers Life has certainly been a good corporate citizen to the City of Bristol, Virginia by providing a service that reaches everyone," said Mayor Hurley. "They've been involved in a lot of community activities. They're very supportive of all the activities in our community, and not only in Bristol, but the entire region. It is a pleasure to help them celebrate their anniversary and make this truly a 'Settlers Life Day' in the City of Bristol, Virginia."

"As part of our celebration, we will be announcing two gifts to the community. The spirit of giving is more important than the act of receiving," said Lowe.
At the celebration, Settlers Life will make a $2,000 donation to the United Way of Bristol and a $1,250 donation to the American Heart Association.
